The students will demonstrate their research and analytical skills as well as their understanding of the key issues involved in the controversy over Andrew Jackson's presidency by writing an outline of their position on one of the impeachment indictments and taking notes on the arguments made by other students on the remaining two indictments on a worksheet.

Students will then participate in the "trial" to indict Andrew Jackson of one or more impeachable offenses.

50% of their grade will be based on their oral participation in the trial, and the remaining 50% on the written work handed in at the end of the class.
